Timeline of the Evaluation Process
Scheduling
The first step is scheduling an initial consultation. During this brief phone call or email exchange, we gather preliminary information to ensure our services align with your needs. Once scheduled, we provide detailed instructions to help you prepare for your upcoming sessions, including what to expect and what paperwork to bring.
Interview
Our process continues with a clinical interview to gain a thorough understanding of your concerns, history, and goals for testing. This interview provides context for the evaluation, ensuring that the testing process focuses on the most relevant areas. We ask about your personal, educational, medical, and psychological background to gather comprehensive information.
Testing
Testing sessions involve a variety of standardized assessments tailored to your unique concerns. Depending on the type of evaluation, testing may include cognitive tests, behavioral questionnaires, academic assessments, and emotional functioning measures. Our psychologists take care to create a comfortable environment to ensure the most accurate and reliable results.
Report
Following the testing sessions, our psychologists carefully analyze the data and prepare a comprehensive report. This report includes a detailed breakdown of test results, diagnostic impressions, and personalized recommendations. We take care to ensure that our reports are clear and easy to understand, offering valuable insights to guide next steps.
Feedback
The final step is the feedback session, where we review the report with you. During this session, we discuss the findings, explain the diagnosis (if applicable), and answer any questions the client may have. We also provide tailored recommendations and next steps, ensuring clients leave with a clear understanding of the results and actionable solutions to address their concerns.
Insurance and Cost
At Ann Arbor Psychological Testing, we are an out-of-network provider, meaning we do not bill insurance directly. However, we understand that testing is a significant investment, and we aim to help you make the most of your available resources when covering the cost of your evaluation.
